Tanna is a volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean, and is part of a collective of islands called Vanuatu. It has a population of approximately 29,000 (2009) with five core languages: Kwamera, SouthWest Tanna, Lenakel, North Tanna and Whitesands. In addition to these, people also speak one of Vanuatu’s official languages, Bislama. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, enjoys demigod status in Tanna.
